P - Preview 1. Look at the pictures. 2. Read the titles and sub-titles. 3. Read the introduction (usually the first) and summary (usually the last) paragraphs. 4. Super Scan (move your finger down the page like a skiier). 5. Begin a content map.
A - Ask Questions 1. Ask questions that have been provided by the author or teacher. 2. Ask questions that you may have.
G - Gathering - Read the material.
E - Expand your content map.
S - Study SSDR's (See, Say, Do, Review)
1. You draw an illustration by each arm of your content map.
2. Create some type of an action with your hands/body that go with the illustration/arm information.
3. Start with the first arm. Say the information out loud while doing the action and looking at the picture. Repeat this process for each arm on the content map.
